Creative
Claywork, by Harald Isenstein. New York: Sterling Publishing Co., Inc.,
1963 printing of the original 1960 edition. Hardcover; 96 numbered pages;
approx. 8½” x 7”. Generously illustrated throughout with drawings and photos.
Kurt Harald Isenstein (1898-1980) was a German
sculptor. Fun fact about his lifelong career: some of
his work was entered into the art competition in the 1928 Summer Olympics in
Amsterdam.
This
book is a thorough guide to small-scale sculpting in clay, for beginners and
those of intermediate experience. It discusses basic techniques and tools, plus
detailed and illustrated instructions for several kinds of figures and
subjects.
Book
condition is “good” or a bit better: boards and spine are straight and square;
the binding is not completely tight, but everything remains securely attached;
some ownership marks inside from cover; some damage to pages 17-18, but not
bad. Please see all listing pics.
Careful
wrapping and fast shipping.
Please look around the
store. Lots of books & other media, quilt & cross stitch patterns, car
mags & catalogs, other mags, home décor, and many more treasures-- and more
listed every day.
