Andino Deceivers 4/0 in the ever popular Black/Red colorway. Very effective pattern preferred by guides when targeting Golden Dorado in Bolivia and Brazil.

Features a tightly packed spun deer hair head for pushing water and increases the fish’s ability to locate it in muddy water conditions.

These are the only ones I know of that incorporate a rattle. This also enhances the fly’s appeal and enables the fish to zero in when visibility is low. The rattle is reinforced and attached with wire so it lasts. I also incorporate a bit of synthetic fiber under the feathers to better combat the steel trap-like mouth they possess.

Tied on a 4/0 Owner Aki hook, which to me has been the best performing hook all around due to its stout, razor sharp point and great strength. Truthfully I’ve not met a hook they can’t destroy but these have held up the best.

Clients years ago took prototypes with copper flash and the results were undeniable, so now I incorporate this on all the colors designated for muddy water conditions.
