When mounted in a stomp box or other percussion device, it produces an amplifiable line-level output with much better bass and mid-range output than piezo-electric pickups.

Can also be used in the body of guitars and other acoustic instruments, but will require some pre-amplification or input into a 'mic' or low-gain socket.
