,
- Hand Enameled
- Colorful Swirl Design in Pink and Blue
- Solid Sterling Silver 925
- Cubic Zirconia

Earrings measure 28.5mm 1.1" long from top of the postsand 25.5mm 1" across

These earrings were made by first drawing out the design. The silver "frame" was cut out with a laser. Then the enamelling was done by hand.

Since enamel is done by hand each piece is a little bit different.

I studied to be a goldsmith in Switzerland where I also learned enameling and am well known in Vancouver BC and also my part time home in Sao Paulo Brazil. My pieces have been featured at the Orpheum Theatre and also at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Although I am retired I am still creating jewelry and you will see more of my pieces for sale every month.

PLIQUE-À-JOUR

This work is so difficult it shouldn’t even be possible. The name is French for letting in the day, meaning daylight can come through the enamel as it does through a stained-glass window. The enamel is not backed, and open to the light on both sides, suspended between areas or lines of metal.

Enamelling goes back to ancient times when glass enamels were used in metalwork. This enabled the jeweler to use glass instead of rare gems.

Enamels are fine particles of glass applied to metal to add color. Usually enamels are dry sifted onto the surface or by wet packing the enamel into channels or cut out areas in the metal. The enamel is then heated until it softens and flows.
