Used Engine Limited Warranty & Return Policy

Al’s Auto, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that each used engine sold by Al’s Auto, Inc. shall be free from knocking, excessive oil consumption and cracks in the block, subject to the following terms and conditions.

Definitions:

1. Engine: As used herein, the term engine shall mean, a used engine assembly (basic block, cylinder head and internal and/or external components that affect the timing of the engine) supplied by Al’s Auto, Inc. or the original manufacturer.

1. Components that do not relate to the timing or integrity of the long block are not guaranteed.
2. Engines are not always exact fits and may need parts changed over. These include but are not limited to manifolds, wiring harnesses, injectors, etc.  The labor for these changeovers is the responsibility of the purchaser.

2. Terms: this warranty shall exist for 30 Days. Terms begin at date of purchase.

Standards:

Subject to the limitations listed herein, Al’s Auto, Inc. will refund the purchase price if Al’s Auto Inc. agrees engine defective. Al’s Auto, Inc. will not be responsible for any labor, towing, and/or incidental costs incurred by the customer.

Mileage:

Al’s Auto does its best to record mileage from speedometer.  Sometimes dash doesn’t power up, auction company records wrong mileage or we are unable to establish correct mileage.  If customer finds a discrepancy with mileage Al’s Auto has the option to adjust the price or return full purchase price if engine is returned unused.

Limitations:

This warranty applies only to the used Engine. This warranty shall not apply to or include the following:

1. Repair or replacement required as a result of any accident or misuse.
2. Repair or replacement of any engine item, including specifically, without limitation, to: all components of the cooling, fuel, electrical, engine control system, and all ignition system components, belts, hoses and filters.
3. Any engine used for competition racing or related purposes.
4. Any engine which has been repaired or remodeled or to which any device or accessory not conforming to original manufacturer specifications has been installed.
5. Warranty does not apply to any engine damaged as a result of overheating or lack of lubrication. The warranty will be void on any engine returned with the heat tabs missing or melted out.  Heat tabs will melt at 260 degrees and above.
6. Any warranty repairs must be authorized by Al’s Auto Inc. and will be handled on a case by case basis.

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS & OWNER/USER OBLIGATIONS FOR THIS WARRANTY TO REMAIN IN EFFECT:

1. Engine oil and filter MUST be changed at the first 1,000 miles and every 3,000 miles thereafter (service records must be kept). STRAIGHT 30W HD OIL MUST BE USED FOR LENGTH OF WARRANTY.
2. Oil and temperature light/gauge and speedometer MUST be in proper working order.
3. New thermostat must be installed.
4. New timing belt must be installed (if applicable).
5. New rear main seal must be installed.
6. Engines that are not installed by Al’s Auto, Inc. must have radiators flow checked. Radiators, which do not meet original equipment manufacture’s flow specifications, must be replaced.

**Failure to perform these operations Voids warranty**

Limited Liability:

The liability of Al’s Auto, Inc. is solely and exclusively limited refunding purchase price. Al’s Auto, Inc. does not assume and has no liability for labor costs or replacement of oil or anti-freeze, damage to other engine parts or components, towing charges, telephone calls, freight, lost profits, lost time, substitute transportation or replacement vehicle or any other consequential damages. Al’s Auto, Inc. has no responsibility for any failure resulting form improper installation, modification of the product faulty or incompatible parts and accessories and/ or abnormal use or operation.

LIMITED WARRANTY:

This warranty is given in lieu of all other warranties; expressed or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, on the part of Al’s Auto, Inc. or the dealer installing the engine.  No dealer, nor agent or employee thereof, is authorized to extend, enlarge or in any way change the terms of this warranty.
