You could actually find many uses for this item. You could use it as a waste basket, a decorative light, or even a hat! Haha, just kidding... but do what you want, I guess. If you do use it as a planter, I recommend lining it with some landscape lining first (unless it's an artificial plant). I think it looks great with the fern as pictured, but you could just put sticks in there and I think it would look good. I'm going to be working on my next one that will have lights built into it, so if you're interested in that, please let me know and I'll try and expedite it for you. You could also use it as a hanging plant basket, but you would need a bottom put on for that - if you need that done, I am willing to do that for you at no extra charge. Just let me know.
