Victorian C-1850s art nouveau silver plated
commemorative table lamp with the “Per
ardua stabilis” motto stamp, which
is “Steadfast through trouble”
translated from Latin being (I believe)
the motto of the Cornwallis family of
Suffolk landowning gentry during early
Victorian era, "Silversmith makers
hallmark stamp too".
