LABEL REPLACEMENT TIPS:
1. Make
sure all traces of the old label are removed. This includes
any old glue residue. I highly recommend disassembling the
cartridge, but you dont have to if you are careful. You want to make
sure that any cleaner that you use does not seep into the cartridge and onto
the circuit board. Goo Gone is a great product for removing the old
glue residue, used in conjunction with a plastic scraper. The
surface must be free of even the most minute bumps, or it will show through the
new label.
2. All the
Goo Gone residue must be removed as well. Any type of all-purpose
cleaner will work. If the residue is not removed, the new label will
not adhere properly. Again, I find it easier in the long run to
completely disassemble the cartridge and wash parts
individually. This also gives you an opportunity to thoroughly clean
the circuit board contacts. Please note that some Parker Brothers
game cartridges are glued together even though most have a screw, so you may
want to avoid trying to take those apart.
3. Once the
label surface is clean and dry, carefully peel back about 1/3 of the label and
fold the paper backing underneath. You can gauge the approximate
location and carefully align the new label so that it is centered before
starting to stick the top of the label down. Once you are satisfied
with the placement, stick the top of the label onto the cartridge
face. If you get it on crooked, you can carefully lift it back off
and try again. Once started, smooth the label along with a finger
while you peel away the backing paper. This will eliminate any air
bubbles.
4. Now your
cartridge looks new! Labels are created using high quality ink and
vinyl paper. Never use any type of cleaner on the
label. Enjoy and have fun!
