This is a Genuine Horn Push and Centre Cover for Series 1, 2 and 2A  vehicles up to Vehicle Suffix B – approximately 1965.

The Land Rover part number is 512352.

This part number has not been available for many years, so the only source is to find a used example.

The shiny finish on nearly the whole of the  outer surface has deteriorated, and there is corrosion clearly visible. The surface has been overpainted in black, which scrapes off quite easily.

 The centre horn push button has also been overpainted in black.

It does not look as if there are any dents at all on the outer surface, all the  3 sets of "prongs" are in good order, while there is surface corrosion in the underside, there is no rot.

The underside of this item has very minimal surface corrosion around the outer edge.

There appear to be no visible dents.

There are no sign of any serious corrosion between the two halves of the unit. Sometimes the rust gets in  between the 2 layers and results in a swollen inner edge of the unit.

The operation of the push button has been tested and found to be working.

This item needs completely overhauling and refurbishing.
