The latest Baofeng 2025 product has arrived, and I'm impressed. Large and solid in the hand.

You can read all the blurb on-line, people are saying nice things, so I'll tell you the nitty gritty.

It's the usual menus system, so we have two VFOs - all the common tuning steps, and once found, stick things into the memory. Display is easy to read and the selected VFO has bigger text - very useful. Squelch is the 0 (open) to 10 (mega strong signals only). It sits happily on the lowest setting here without chatter. Interestingly the two VFOs can have different steps set?

Battery is big and has a screw for keeping it on, not a fragile button. Comes with a desk charger and oddly a quite nice case. Charging can also be carried out by a USB-C connector on the rear of the battery. I'm quite impressed.

They seem to be on ebay from China for just over £70 - these are UK stock and have quick delivery - Royal Mail Tracked 48 is included in the price.

They seem to have really upped the quality. It seems that the programming software is 'coming' from Baofeng, but some people have managed to get Chirp to program them - the info is on the net.
