Snoopy first appeared as Joe Cool in the Peanuts comic strip in 1971. To become Joe Cool, Snoopy simply puts on a pair of sunglasses and pretends to be a cool college student. Aside from the Peanuts comic strip, Joe Cool has also appeared in TV specials and The Peanuts Movie.
