High Quality Lightweight Aluminium Alloy Tent Pegs

These 9g curved Y-section aluminium tent pegs are extremely good in softer ground where their 'Y' shape enables them to grip and hold much firmer than an equivalent length of round or needle tent peg - indeed their 'Y' shape means that they are not prone to twisting on their axis. These are similar tent pegs as used by Hilleberg with some of their tents.
Lightweight aluminium tent pegs are a great compromise between the more expensive Superlite titanium tent pegs and the cheaper, but far heavier, rust-prone steel tent pegs. Each lightweight Y-section aluminium tent peg is 150mm in length, with a curved 'Y' profile of 9mm x 9mm x 9mm and weighs in at a mere 9 grams (including the ties). The ties can be used to tie directly to a guyline, or aid extraction of the tent peg from the ground. Please note that the pull cord/tie colour may vary to that shown in the photo, however, the tent pegs will be identical.
These tent pegs are made from aviation grade aluminium alloy, that is aluminium alloyed with zinc and then heat treated to give a very strong metal. They are also anodised in gold for extra corrosion resistance.
Y-section aluminium tent pegs are considered to be slightly stronger than the equivalent size V-section aluminium tent peg due to the three fins (beams) design. Our Y-section tent pegs differ slightly from most others in that the fins are slightly curved (see photo). This is said to slightly aid ground penetration whilst still providing excellent ground retention.

Point of note: A smooth round tent peg will much easier pull out of soft ground than a Y-section peg which is designed to hold more ground. However, Y-section tent pegs can be harder to push into firmer or stony ground. Whilst Y-section tent pegs are less prone to bend or kink than round tent pegs (or even V-section pegs), do bear in mind that any tent peg can be bent or destroyed by applying too much brute force or abuse.
