This Briggs & Stratton 33R877 19 Gross HP 540cc engine is compatible as a replacement for your Briggs & Stratton engine.

NOTICE: If your engine model number starts with "31," it indicates a 500cc displacement. However, our engine has a 540cc displacement, providing more power. If your engine model number starts with "33," it also indicates a 540cc displacement. Both your old engine and our new replacement have the same 540cc displacement. While your old engine may be rated at 21 Gross HP, our new engine is rated at 19 Gross HP. The 540cc Briggs and Stratton engine is now rated at 19 Gross HP, not higher than 21. • This engine has a Dual Alternator (**only works for mower with manual blade engagement, engaging blades by pulling/pushing a lever or stick). It WILL NOT work for mower with a electric PTO. If your mower has a button to pull to engage the blades, it means the mower has PTO Electric Clutch to run the blades. Engine needs at least 9 AMP to run PTO. Please do not buy this.
• Wiring Colors:
  Red = DC voltage output, battery charge wire
  Orange = AC voltage output, typically for lights
  Gray = Fuel Solenoid, needs 12 volt with key switch on to allow fuel to flow
  Black = Magneto Kill, ground to stop spark (add no voltage to this wire!)
