This listing is for a two-tier spiral screwdriver made by the Goodell Brothers Company in the Greenfield, MA, USA and patented on October 5th, 1897.  The old piece came out of an estate sale that had many late 1800’s and early 1900’s items.  It is in very good collector condition for its age *** just missing the flat head bit*** (see pictures).  The wood handle has some old scratches but is without cracks or splits (see pictures).  Once the brass locking rings are loosened both spiral extensions can be pulled out and glide freely (see pictures).  The screwdriver metal was wire wheeled then tool oil was applied.  The handle was sanded, re-stained and covered with boiled linseed oil.  This old piece of tool history would make great additions for any old tool lover.
