This beautiful jewelry box by Mele has an all wood frame covered with faux leather in a marbled brown color with decorative gold trim edging on the lid.

There is a single antique silver tone latch with a gold fabric tassel attached to open the top section of the jewelry box.

The interior has different sized and divided sections covered in deep golden smooth velvet and one raised area held on by brass hardware divided into six smaller sections with round piercings to hold earrings.

The inside of the lid has a 4 1/2” long by 7 1/2” high mirror in the middle and sides lined in cream colored satin with deep gathered pockets on each.

There is a separate gold edged drawer below the top section with two antique silver tone decorative knobs and three evenly divided interior sections all lined in the same deep golden smooth velvet.

The back of the jewelry box is stamped “MELE” in gold and the bottom is covered in green fabric.

The dimensions of the jewelry box are 12 1/4” long, 8" wide, 4” high closed and 12” high with the jewelry box fully open.

The exact age of this gorgeous jewelry box is not known but Mele produced this particular style in the 1950’s and early 1960’s.

The jewelry box is in wonderful vintage condition and with age, there are a few markings and faint scrapes on the lid, sides and edges.

The interior sections are also in wonderful condition with slight and faded markings on the velvet and satin areas but there are no tears, rips or holes.

The mirror is fully attached to the lid and is in beautiful condition with no cracks, chips or cloudiness to the mirror glass. See all photos.
