The Kenyon Review for Winter 1955. Ferry contributes three new poems, some of his very earliest in print. Very nice copy of the quarterly. 

The Limits of Mortality: An Essay on Wordsworth's Major Poems. This is another of Ferry's earliest appearances in print. Hardcover in dust wrapper from the Wesleyan University Press, 1959. An informed work, he demonstrates a confidence in his conclusions here that you will soon enough share.  

The Paris Review for Autumn/Winter 1959-60. Ferry contributes an early poem, Learning from History. 

Poetry (Chicago) for December 1961. Poet James Wright reviews new volumes of verse including Ferry's first published collection of poems, On the Way to the Island.  

The Virginia Quarterly Review for Winter 1967. Ferry reviews the Collected Poems of Theodore Roethke. 

Poetry (Chicago) for April 1971. Ferry's three poems in this issue are his first in the notable monthly. 

Poetry (Chicago) for January 1978. Ferry's second appearance in the monthly, Photographs from a Book. 

Ploughshares, Vol. 5, #2 for 1979. Four new poems by Ferry. 

Tri-Quarterly (Northwestern), for Winter 1991-1992. This number offers Ferry's notable translation (20 pages) from "The Epic of Gilgamesh." This is the first appearance of Ferry's work, published later in this year. 

Raritan: A Quarterly Review  (Rutgers) for Summer 1993. Ferry translates a poem from 13th century poet der Wilde Alexander. 

TO: A Journal of Poetry (PA.) for Spring 1994. Daniel Moore reviews Ferry's "Gilgamesh: A New Rendering in English Verse." 

Tri-Quarterly, #93 for Spring/Summer 1995. Ferry translations from Horace, 111.26 To Venus and 1.34 Of the God's Power. 

Tri-Quarterly, #95 for Winter 1995-1996. Ferry pens an adaptation/translation from the German of Friedrich Holderin, "She Speaks Across the years." 

Parnassus: Poetry in Review. Thick, 330-pages. 2001. Isaac Meyers offers an essay "Grazing in the Ruins" in review of Ferry's "The Eclogues of Virgil: A Translation." "Conscientious, beautiful and full of life." 

The Literary Imagination (Oxford) for Winter 2005. Ferry's longer translation (with both Latin and English lines included, eight pages), of Virgil's Georgics 3.209-83. 

Poetry (Chicago) for April 2005. Ferry contributes a lyrical translation "From the Georgics, Book IV" of Virgil (on the magical life of bees).  

Poetry (Chicago) for March 2006. Peter Campion reviews Ferry's magisterial translation of "The Georgics of Virgil." He notes: "This is the best poetry of ancient Rome rendered by the best translator of modern America." 

Poetry (Chicago) for April 2006. "Translation" number offers a Ferry "plundering" of Rainer Maria Rilke's poem celled "Song of the Little Cripple at the Street Corner" along with some autobiographical detail related to this "arresting" poem by Rilke.  

The Literary Imagination (Oxford) for 2008, Vol. 10, #1. Ferry's translation from Virgil: The Aeneid 2.199-249. There are some notes in this number to an unrelated article.  

Poetry (Chicago) for February 2009. This number opens with Ferry's translation from Virgil's "Aeneid II, 692-end." This is followed by two new poems by Ferry. 

The Threepenny Review (Berkeley, oversize newspaper format) for Fall 2009. Ferry's new poem, Street Scene. The California quarterly is edited by the inestimable Wendy Lesser. 

Poetry (Chicago) for July/August 2011. This number features the distinguished Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize Poetry for Lifetime Achievement that was recently awarded to Ferry. 10 poems (16 pages) introduced by editor Christian Wiman. 

Poetry (Chicago) for January 2012. This first of the monthly's 100th Anniversary issues includes seven new poems by Ferry. 

The Literary Imagination (Oxford) for 2012, Vol. 14, #2. This issue offers Ferry's translation from Virgil's Aeneid, II, 816-80. 

The New York Review of Books for 23 November 2017. April Bernard is effusive in her praise for Ferry's verse in a long essay reviewing his just published 432-page Aeneid of Virgil by the University of Chicago Press (and see below).  

The New York Times Book Review for 10 December 2017. Denis Feeney takes a turn at reviewing Ferry's translation of the Aeneid (above). 

The Times Literary Supplement (London) for 16 February 2018. This number offers Richard Jenkyns' review of Ferry's Aeneid (see above). "The best modern version" of the epic poem.

The Threepenny Review for Spring 2019. New verse from Ferry, I, Who Am Neither.    

Poetry (Chicago) for September 2019. Ferry, age 95 at this date, pens a new work, Some Things I Said.   

Raritan: A Quarterly Review (Rutgers) for Winter 2020. Eleanor Cook contributes a first-rate essay here headed "A Virgil of Our Time on Ferry's informed translations of the epic poet.
