For chain driven race cars, including racing Karts, Quarter Midgets, Mini/Micro Sprints, and Lightning Sprints, it is critical that the drive and driven chain sprockets are in perfect alignment. Any misalignment in the sprockets, be it in a perpendicular or parallel alignment, means excessive wear on the sprocket teeth as well as the Shop Replacement Drive Chains. This wear is induced via excessive drag from the misalignment, which eats horsepower. In a worst case scenario you’ll throw or break the chain and your day is done. To prevent these issues you simply need to align your sprockets and the best way to handle that is with a laser alignment tool.

Most laser alignment tools designed for Shop Replacement Chain Sprockets mount the laser directly over the centerline of the chain teeth. While this is perfectly acceptable, it limits the tool to a specific chain/sprocket size, as sprocket dimensions differ with each chain width. Our laser chain alignment tool clamps to almost any chain sprocket (it can even be used for motorcycle alignment or other chain driven equipment) and places the laser directly along the rear edge of the sprocket. This allows the chain alignment tool to be used with any chain sprocket or chain 530 size or smaller, including 520, 219, 40, and 35 chains/sprockets. Simply remove your Shop Chain Guides plates for access, slip the tool over the sprocket (or sprocket and chain) and clamp it in place to allow you to verify and adjust your sprockets for perfect alignment in minutes.

The precision CNC machined aluminum mount secures the laser via a set screw, allowing replacement of the laser if it ever fails to function.
