A Syrian Moorish bench.

A super & unusual example, of comparatively diminutive scale with the whole piece heavily carved & finished with mother of pearl inlay and turned Mashrabiya panelling. 

A wonderful piece of Moorish furniture of great form which sits so well.

Late 19th / early 20th century

Dimensions: W: 84cm (33.1")H: 92cm (36.2")D: 42cm (16.5")

Wear commensurate with age, very good overall showing the usual signs of age, inlay very nearly all present, as is the mashrabiya beadwork (has a single bead absent on one armrest which I didn't notice until the photoshoot). 

With a couple of minor old repairs, none obviously visible, high backrest is solid but this is always weak point on these so needs to be taken into account when using it. Displays beautifully.
