This Vintage 60s 70s Jacques Brazil Hackman Garcia Survival Knife & Leather Sheath is in good condition overall but shows expected signs of age and use.
The blade is clearly marked "JACQUES STAINLESS BRAZIL" as well as with the "Garcia" logo. Production most likely occurred sometime in the very late 60s through mid 70s. These knives were copies of the Vietnam era "Hackman Survival Knife," made in Finland, and were used after that conflict. The edge is clean and unsharpened. Only mild sheath wear and handling marks can be noted in the polished finish. No evidence of abuse or neglect is present. The stacked leather grip is in very good, clean condition and only shows minimal traces handling and storage. The handle's screw-off pommel cap is clean and functions as expected however the original survival implements stored inside the grip's internal cavity have been lost. The brown leather sheath is in good condition but mild signs of age and storage can be noted. The backside is clearly ink stamped "BRAZIL." All hardware is clean and functions as intended however the original belt hook has been lost. The original combination tool is also missing. The blade is securely held in place by the retention strap when fastened. The original lower leg retention strap is still present and in serviceable condition despite showing expected age.
This knife would be a fine addition to any Cold War Era US edged weapons collection and would be difficult to upgrade. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of contents and condition.
