Governor Frank Merriam, Republican, is pictured leaving the voting booth after casting his ballot, one of an estimated 2,500,000 Californians to do so during the 13 hour parade to the polls. Governor Merriam forecast that he would be re elected by a "vote that will surprise my supporters and my opponents."Photo measures 6.5 x 8.75 inches. Photo is dated 11-8-1938.
