1895 Rand McNally & Company. Small format paperback in original pictorial covers. Includes a large two-sided folding map: 1895 "Rand McNally Guide Map of New York City" backed with " Road Map of the New York and New Jersey Suburbs." The paperback book's covers are much worn with toning and soiling to surfaces. Chipped at edges and with old much yellowed tape reinforcement over spine. Despite or perhaps because of the tape, the covers have split along the front joint. We have reattached the covers with archival japanese kozo, though there remains some small pieces missing along the spine. Illustrated with woodcut and half-tones and with numerous period business ads. First and last leaves toned by the covers. The large folding color map of New York City is in VG- condition with one short yellowed tape mend to a crease and mild short splits at several intersecting folds. The map colors are bright. Very uncommonly seen with the accompanying map, though with covers rather shabby. Text block near VG but graded to G because of shabby wraps.
