2016 FINAL FANTASY TCG OPUS 1 FOIL LEGEND SEPHIROTH 1-186L BGS 9.5 GEM MINT

The Subgrades
Centering 9 Corners 10 Edges 10 Surface 10 Serial Number 0013360174. I have tons of experience from being in the sports card grading scene for over 20 years to gauge what BGS graders look for. However, BGS is so tough in getting these Sephiroths a high grade. Only 18 BGS Gem Mint and way tougher than PSA.
The Product
Final Fantasy TCG is derived from the immensely popular video game (grossing $20 Billion) which has been around for over 30 years and has a great following. This was originally a Japanese exclusive, but now have become a global hit. Square Enix did superb as this game had: balance, structure, and artwork.
The Character
Sephiroth is Final Fantasy's top villain character and his recent popularity has risen to equaling Cloud's at times depending on the product. He is the top collected villain character in all of Final Fantasy's games and series and even got a boost from Smash Bros the game. He hails from the FF 7 video game which anyone over 30, started on. Last year, Square Enix did the FF7 Remake, and his prices have shot through the roof with thousands of new collectors and players which came into the FFTCG community to collect.
The Grade
Beckett Grading Services (BGS) over two decades is the undisputed "leader" in all appraised items for: sports, non-sports, gaming, memorabilia. They have impeccable integrity and their items sell for higher. Their appraisers scrutinize every card for flaws on: centering, surface, edges, corners. Although many factors go into how a graded card is valued such as scarcity, number of top grades, demand, the consistent range are below for most TCG cards after they have attained their respective grades are:
Odds/Pricing
My feedback reflects honesty and fairness. I describe the ungraded items as they are and sell them slightly above my cost. For graded cards, my pricing is based on odds and the consistent selling multipliers which market have always shown to be consistent on. For this item, boxes are just way too expensive to try and pull "one" and hope it is good enough to grade, but historically, odds of getting one BGS worthy is about 1 in 5 for just for a gem mint grade, and about 1 in 12 for Pristine. Black Label is just near impossible at times.
