This unique and custom made vintage 1950s women's full length coat is a special occasion piece made from black wool and accented with a gray curly persian lamb collar. Handmade in Japan, the coat features an art deco look with a unique curly texture (lambs ears!) on the collar and a satin lining with fill. The size is small with measurements of 18" pit to pit for the chest, 15.75" shoulder to shoulder, and 44" shoulder to hem. The bottom half has a beautiful hanging A-line hem approximately 50 inches wide. This stylish and original coat is a timeless piece that exudes elegance and sophistication, perfect for adding a touch of vintage glamour to any outfit.
This was handmade by the owners mother in Japan most likely in the 1950s or even late 1940s. It comes from a non-smoking home. The original buttons have been replaced except for the one at the top, which is silver and is hidden by the collar when being worn buttoned. There are no tears or holes in the outer fabric or lining. The inner lining that holds the batting fill between the wool and inside lining is worn but not visible. There are no pockets. The arm cuff could fold down but is point sewn in place.
