This Nippon chocolate pot set features a hand-painted butterfly design on porcelain, consisting of 3 cups and 6 saucers with a Deco style. The set originates from Japan and reflects Japanese culture in its craftsmanship.

The chocolate pot has a short spout with a wide opening to allow froth to pour out without obstruction. The pot is tall and slim with slight square-ish design. Each piece in the set is banded with a lovely cream color outlined with gold along the top, bottom and each corner.  Hand-painted butterfly gracefully fly along each side of the pot and cups and the saucers are also adored with 2 butterflies each.

Art Deco chocolate pots are characterized by their simple, symmetrical, and planar design, which reflects the style's admiration for machine-made objects. They also feature floral or other decorative motifs.

Condition: There are no chips or repairs. One of the cup has several crazing lines (shown in photos). One saucer has a drip of blue paint along the edge (shown in photos). There are several "pinholes" under the glaze on several plates.  There is rubbing of the gold on all the pieces where they have been handled; along the edges of the saucers, the handles of the cup and the finial and edge of the lid (shown in photos). See photos as part of the description.
