About Mooneyes:

Dean Moon (May 1, 1927 – June 4, 1987) was an American automobile designer and hot rodder. He grew up in Norwalk, California. Moon was around cars and racing from his youth. His father owned "Moon Café" and had a go-kart track he called "Moonza", a pun on Monza. Dean was involved in dry lakes hot-rodding in the late 1940s. He founded MOON Speed Equipment (c.1950) and worked to improve the quality and safety of speed and racing products his entire life.

Dean Moon died at age 60 in 1987, and the company was sold to Shige Suganuma and Chico Kodama in 1992. Both were friends with Dean and were well aware of his important contributions to hot rodding. The new owners have kept Mooneyes USA in its same location in Santa Fe Springs and built a wildly successful Japanese location in Yokohama.

Mooneyes continues to be an iconic brand and logo worldwide supporting automotive enthusiasts around the world.
