The items are detailed with textured wings and tails, and cast leaf decoration around the edges of the drip trays.
They would hold candles of about 0.75 inches (2.2 cm) in diameter.
The items have been kept lightly polished. There is a missing right front foot on one of the pieces and the other is missing the tip of its tail, but they both stand very firmly. There is also a slight height discrepancy to the cnadleholder parts since it seems that each item was individually shaped.
These would make an ideal and unusual pair to add to any collection of antique gothic or medieval style items.
One item measures approx. 9 inches (23 cm) long and about 8 inches (20 cm) in height and the other (which has the missing tail tip), about 7 inches (17.7 cm) in length and about 8.25 inches (21 cm) in height.
The brass is solid cast and weighty.
