If you purchase from the heading alone, make your own assumptions and they are not what you expected, HOW IS THAT MY FAULT?

DON McNEILL BREAKFAST/TV CLUB

May 12, 1948 thru October 4, 1954

Don McNeill's Breakfast Club is a long-run morning variety show on NBC Blue Network/ABC radio (and briefly on television 1948-54) originating in Chicago, Illinois. Hosted by Don McNeill, the radio program ran from June 23, 1933 through December 27, 1968.

The Breakfast Club initially was broadcast from the NBC studios in the Merchandise Mart. In 1948, after 4,500 broadcasts from the Merchandise Mart, the program moved to the new ABC Civic Studio. It was also heard from other Chicago venues: the Terrace Casino (at the Morrison Hotel), the College Inn Porterhouse (at the Sherman House) and "the Tiptop Room of the Warwick Allerton Hotel on Chicago's Magnificent Mile," as well as tour broadcasts from other locations in the U.S. It remained a fixture on the ABC radio network (formerly the NBC Blue Network; it became known as ABC in 1945), maintaining its popularity for years.

Beginning on September 5, 1950, the show aired as TV Club (aka Don McNeill's TV Club) on ABC in the 1950-51 prime time season in a 60-minute version, Wednesdays at 9pm ET. From September to December 1951, the show returned to ABC in a 30-minute version, Wednesdays from 9pm to 9:30pm ET.

Beginning on February 22, 1954 and ending on February 25, 1955, Don McNeill's Breakfast Club was simulcast in its regular morning slot on ABC Radio and ABC Television. However, it failed to make a successful transition to television in either version.

On May 12, 1948, the program was shown on the DuMont television station WABD in New York, "simulcast" with the ABC radio show, as an experiment.

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:

This is NOT a retail set or a copy of a retail set as no retail release exists for this show.

This is a custom made DVD collection made from episodes acquired in the collector arena. These episodes are rare, extremely hard-to-find and possibly all that still exist. In many cases, these episodes were transferred from a master source many years ago (master source to Beta or VHS to DVD as each media became available). READ MY FEEDBACK - many people have already acquired and have enjoyed these sets for what they are... a piece of TV history not available in stores.

If you are unfamiliar with video collecting and do not know what a 'collector set' means... It DOES NOT mean every episode is pristine and without flaws. It DOES NOT mean all episodes are today's TV quality. It DOES NOT mean all episodes will look great on your Samsung 65" 4G Big Screen HDTV.

Too many people believe every episode of every show is available in today's TV quality. Unfortunately, that is not the case and you SHOULD NOT be expecting that. Please DO NOT buy any collector DVD set if you are expecting the same quality as though you are watching TVLand reruns on your Big Screen HDTV. BEWARE OF THOSE WHO CLAIM "NEW" QUALITY ON A COLLECTOR SET.... Ask if it is 'factory new' if you are unsure.

If you are unfamiliar with what to expect from this set, please email me BEFORE purchasing. I am an honest collector. I have over 40+ years of collecting experience and a collection of over 500,000 video items (I lost count). I know what is available to collectors and what is not. Unlike some, I will not tell you what you want to hear just to make a sale. I am not like that. If you are expecting today's TV quality, I will tell you not to buy any collector DVD set. If you want to watch this set for what it is, "a piece of lost TV history" then by all means do so. I cannot be more honest in my explanation. DO NOT expect better quality than I am stating is being offered.
