The Kaleidescape Movie Player 2, with its integral CD/DVD combo drive, is a high-performance audio/video component designed to import and play back movies and music in a Kaleidescape System. The elegant 1U low-profi le design can be rackmounted or, with side bezels, used free-standing on a shelf. The builtin combo drive imports CDs and DVDs and supports direct-from-disc playback like a standard DVD player. You can play a DVD without waiting to import it, or play borrowed and rented DVDs without importing them at all, eliminating the need for a separate DVD player.
Movie Player 2 can play HD and DVD movies from a Kaleidescape Server to a display device in the digital domain without any analog processing. Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG, and PCM audio formats are fully supported. The High-Defi nition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and component video connections deliver reference-quality video. Movie Player 2 can be integrated with control systems via an extensive bi-directional control protocol over RS-232 or TCP/IP. IR control is also available. Control protocol and confi guration options enable seamless integration with and automatic control of audio and video processors, movie projectors, display devices, control systems, lighting systems, screen-masking systems, and audio systems.

This Kaleidescape Movie Player 2 KPLAYER-5000 is listed As Is because we don't know how to test them. We received four of them and all of them power ON and we can open and close the DVD Tray. We believe these are designed to be daisy chained together to the system server for control or using a 9-pin serial D connector, controlled by PC. They ALL appear to be in excellent condition however we have no way to test these any further. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
We ship by most standard carriers and also offer local pick-up at our warehouse in Ventura, CA. Please be sure to include a street address (not a PO Box) for any method other that US Postal Service.
Large and heavy items ship by palletized freight and are delivered to the nearest truck freight terminal (for US lower 48 orders) or the nearest ocean freight seaport terminal (for International orders). Buyer must collect the goods at the terminal or make arrangements for onward delivery from that location.
