So komplett. Einband berieben.

Magnificent, rarely COMPLETELY offered depiction of the Sardinian War, also called the Second Italian War of Independence - one of the three Italian wars of independence. The opponents in 1859 were Austria on one side, Sardinia-Piedmont and France on the other.

72 pages of text (after an unnamed Times correspondent) as well as 39 full-page colored lithographs (plus title vignette) after Carlo Bossoli in the format approx. 28.5 x 21.5 and two maps in the text. So complete. Cover rubbed. Was probably rebound some time ago using the original cover. Some of the plates have defects on the edges - but never in the illustration itself. The plates themselves have fresh colors. Plate 39 is not a full page but, as noted in the list of illustrations, the title vignette. This is accordingly numbered 39.
