Hallet's Peak Bear Lake Rocky Mountain National Park Estes Colorado Postcard


Hallett Peak is a mountain summit in the northern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The 12,720-foot peak is located in the Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness, 10.1 miles southwest by west (bearing 240°) of the Town of Estes Park, Colorado, United States, on the Continental Divide between Grand and Larimer counties. Hallett Peak is on the Continental Divide, flanked by Flattop Mountain to the north and Otis Peak to the south. Just to its east lie Emerald Lake, Dream Lake, and Nymph Lake, access to which is usually from the Bear Lake Comfort Station.


Floyd G. Walters was an employee of the Photographic Department at the University of Colorado Boulder circa 1944-1968 and also established the CU photography department. His collection contains postcards, photographic prints and negatives, copper plate printing blocks, and photo calendars featuring Colorado scenery, the Flatirons, and the University of Colorado campus.


Curt Teich Co. 1898-1978 Chicago, IL 5C-K1976 dated 1955: Curt Teich became an early publisher of postcards but did not begin printing them in number himself until 1908. Most of the company's postcards had white borders. The company employed offset printing beginning in 1907 and began producing linen postcards in the early 1930s. The Curt Teich Company employed various credit lines, including Curteich-Chicago, C. T. American Art, and C. T. Photochrome. After 1930 card numbers began with a number corresponding to the last digit of the year it was published in followed by a letter series denoting the decade.
