***FREDERICK W. FREER 1849-1930
In Munich while studying painting, F.V.Freer, from 1869 - the first portrait ever attempted by the artist; And then he began to depict miniature head on the front.
Mr. Freer has acquired much favor with the public as a painter of pictures of beautiful women. As with most of Mr. Freer's pictures, his model in this case was a girl . Of the last named, a charming girl, seated on a sofa and gazing at a rose in her hand...
Mr. Freer has done a great quantity of work, nor has he neglected black-and-white. As this picture shows.
Mr. Freer has not made the illustration of books a specialty; but his drawings for this purpose have been well worthy of praise, and we are fortunately enabled to show some of them here.
But the publishing house of Bryan, Taylor & Co. in the late 18th century (1886-1890), was interested in the drawings of the artist during the period when He was electee , one of its Associates in 1887, and is a member of the Water-Color Society, the Society of American Artists, and the New York Etching Club.
