Description: This is an ORIGINAL poster for the 1979 "MARGO ST. JAMES' SAN FRANCISCO MASQUERADE BALL". SIGNED/INSCRIBED in ink by the poster designer Randy Tuten: "To Peter, Thaks / Randy Tuten". Linen-backed. 20" x 28", plus a white linen border. Margo St. James (1937-2021) was wrongly convicted of prostitution in San Francisco, and thereafter founded "COYOTE" (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics", a sex workers union. To finance Coyote, St. James produced a series of dances, including this 1979 "Masquerade Ball", a version of which was held in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
