For Sale is one gently used Sokkia SDR33 640K Standard data collector along with software & documentation CD, data transfer cable, cordura soft case, charger, NiCd main battery and set of 2 lithium backup batteries. The data collector is in perfect like-new condition with no cracks or flaws. This equipment has been thoroughly tested and is guaranteed to be ready to work when you receive it. Before you buy a used SDR data collector from other sellers here on eBay or through your dealer, you would need to carefully inspect the housing for cracks which would compromise the environmental sealing of the data collector making it vulnerable to moisture. Every unit I sell is guaranteed to be absolutely perfect with no cracks or flaws.
WHY BUY AN SDR33 FROM ME?: Are you tired of wasting time and money on training with the Windows-based data collectors like the Ranger or Recon only to find out that they slow you down in the field? If you're looking for an intuitive user-friendly interface for conventional Total Station data collection with a proven record of reliability, then the SDR33 is right for you. If you've been using a "calculator-based" data collection solution such as the Hewlett-Packard (hp) 48 or 42, you will appreciate the large keypad and easy-to-navigate menu system on the SDR33. Simply enter the Job Name, select your instrument from the menu, enter the coordinates of your Station and backsight points, and you're ready to begin collecting data. And unlike the calculator-based solutions or other DOS-based data collectors such as the Husky, there's no additional expensive software to buy since it's built right into the SDR33. When you buy an SDR33 from me, you will receive all of the cables, batteries, charger, software, reference material, and technical support that you need to get started working right away. I have 25 years of experience using and supporting Sokkia SDR electronic field books and instruments, and I will be here to help you long after the sale. Please browse through my feedback profile and see how your buying experience will be. And the technical support from Sokkia is second to none. I urge you to check out their website at www.Sokkia.com and see for yourself.
STANDARD VERSION: I believe the SDR33 is the most rugged and dependable data collector you can buy. The Standard version of the SDR33 offers all of the basic functions most surveyors will need for topographic surveying and stakeout. The Standard version does not include the extensive routines for road stakeout nor the support for digital levels found in the Expert Version, but it is an excellent compromise between cost, storage capacity, and features. For a Surveyor who does not need all of the extra features included in the SDR33 Expert model, here's a chance to get almost as much storage capacity as the 1meg Expert model at reduced cost. I do have 640K Expert Models available, but I do not recommend them due to having only 2000 points storage capacity.
640K MEMORY: With the 640K Standard model, you can store approximately 7,500 points, almost as much as the 1meg Expert Model. While it's true that you should download the data collected each day and that 2000 points is more than enough to store a day or 2 of topo work, with the extra point storage capacity provided in the 640K Standard version, you will have plenty of room to keep multiple stakeout jobs stored in memory for quick access. If you frequently find yourself alternating between stakeout work and topographic surveying work within the same day or week, you will appreciate the ability to keep your stakeout jobs stored in the data collector while leaving plenty of room for collected data. With the 640K Standard model, there is less likelihood that you will need to delete stakeout jobs to make room to collect data. Of course you could keep stakeout jobs stored on a laptop or return to the office to upload stakeout jobs to the data collector, but you will be able to spend more time getting work done and less time uploading or keying in data if you keep your stakeout jobs loaded in the SDR33, ready for quick access.
COMPATIBILITY: The SDR33 includes an instrument cable which works with Sokkia total stations and Topcon total stations right out of the box. With the addition of an adaptor cable (not included) the SDR33 can be used with other total stations from a wide variety of manufacturers. The firmware in the SDR33 lists the following choices of instruments in addition to the Sokkia Instruments:
Pentax: PTSII/III, III/V/PCS, PTS-10
Geodimeter: 400/500/600
Zeiss: Elta 2/3, Elta 46R, Elta RL, Elta 50
Topcon: GTS/ET1/ET2, GTS-3, GTS300 (The adaptor cable for the older-model Topcons without RS-232 Serial communications is no longer available from Sokkia. A third-party solution is available but the cost is prohibitive)
Wild: T1000, T1000+DI, T1600, T1600+DI, T2000, T2000+DI, T1010/1610, T1010/1610+DI, TCA110, TC/TCM series
Nikon: A-series, D-50 (The SDR33 will not work with the older-model DTM-1 and DTM-5 total stations due to them not having RS-232 compliant communications. If your Nikon total station has a 5-pin data-out port, it will not work with the SDR33. If it has a 6-pin data-out port, it should work with the SDR33 and the required adaptor cable available from Sokkia)
