Oxblood or ox- blood is a dark shade of red. It is a classic ceramic glaze color, first appearing in Chinese porcelain at the start of the 18th Century. The name is French, meaning “ ox blood” or “cow blood”and the glaze and the color sang de boeuf are also called ox- blood or oxblood in English.
This Interesting and Beautiful Chinese Antique “Oxblood” Sang De Boeuf Glaze Deep Red Porcelain Vase. Typical marks ; Blue Stamp Chinese From The Northern Of Song Dynasty. Measure is about 9.5” tall,3” wide on the top and 3” wide at the base.
There is a few pinpoints on the body ( see in the picture ), no chips, no cracks, damage or any kind of repair. Great mold and rare.
