The material is grade 5 titanium, most widely used titanium alloy. (Ti-6Al-4V) also sometimes called TC4, Ti64 or ASTM. It has excellent corrosion resistance to salt water, marine atmospheres and a variety of corrosive media temperatures below 300 ° C.
  • Metal locking mechanism: These nuts can be used in high temperature applications and still give a locked state.
  • This metal locking mechanism allows the nuts to be used more than once, unlike nylon locking nut types.
  • When using these nuts with another titanium fasteners, such as a bolt or stud, it is important to apply a small amount of either an anti-seize grease such as molybdenum disulphide or copper ‘slip’ grease. 
  • Failure to apply anti-seize grease (on non-safety critical fixings) may cause the threads to gall on final torque of fastener and a seized/damaged thread.
  • Recommended maximum tightening torques:
  • M10 x 1.25 fastener ~ 38 Nm.
