DESCRIPTION: From the publisher's flyer:
We hope that you will enjoy the copy of POETRY AND PROSE by A. Lincoln that we now send you. This book is the first title in a series of American Keepsakes that we intend to issue for our friends from time to time. No copies of the titles in this series will be offered for sale; the plates from which the book was printed have been melted.
POETRY AND PROSE came into being this way. One afternoon Paul Angle and Earl Mins were discussing the essential character of Lincoln. "The man," they said, "always had a creative spark. He was mystical, deeply sub-jective, a seeker after the philosophical significance in personal experiences. One of the most telling illustrations of this fact came during those early years when he essayed to become (rather sheepishly, it is true) A. Lincoln, Author."
CONDITION: Original red slipcase is present with defects. Still solid, but exhibits wear to all surfaces, some spots, and has a tag over the lower spine with Library of Congress cataloguing information taped down. The book is still in its original mylar sleeve, but the sleeve is worn with a divot removed from the upper front. However, on removal the book itself has been protected and is clean, slightly age-toned. Previous owner's bookplate on the IFC. Includes the original publicity/announcement flyer. A good solid copy overall.

TERMS & ABBREVIATIONS IN OUR LISTINGS: For your convenience, here is a quick list of terms and abbreviations that I commonly use in listings:
IBC: Inside Back Cover
IBEP: Inside Back End Paper
IFC: Inside Front Cover
IFEP: Inside Front End Paper
Text-Block: The body of the book contained between the covers.
NOTES ON EDITIONS: I use a number of resources to attempt to determine the edition of the book that I am listing. My most frequently referenced resource is Zempel and Verkler's "First Editions: A Guide to Identification," although I sometimes use other internet sources and make comparisons with listings I find on various internet sites. Errors, if any, remain my own.
ON "MAKING AN OFFER" THROUGH eBay: Many of these items have automatic levels at which offers will be accepted which we have pre-set through eBay. Making an offer within the pre-determined range will result in your offer being immediately accepted. A few items also have levels below which offers will be declined. ALL offers are reviewed, and reasonable offers are always considered (although it being my business, I am the one who defines "reasonable"). If you have a question about making an offer on an item, do drop me a line.
We strive to be extremely careful and diligent in describing our listings, but if you receive a book and don't feel that it's quite what you ordered, please contact us through the "Contact Seller" link to see what we can do for you.
