On Wednesday, October 1, 1969, the final day of the 1969 season, Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski of the Boston Red Sox blasted his 40th Home Run of the 1969 season, a 2-out, 1st inning go-ahead blast that put the Red Sox up 1-0.  With this HR on the final day of the 1969 season, Yaz notched his second of three career 40-HR seasons.
