Set of three (3) Cristal d'Arques "Grand Vin (A Shape)" 6 1/2" oversize wine glasses. Made of clear colorless lead crystal. Features a 2 3/4" deep bowl, rounded at bottom with nearly straight sides, atop a thick stem that tapers towards the top and flares into a slightly domed foot. Each glass is impressed "FRANCE" in raised sans serif letters near the center underside of foot. 

Purchased in the 1990s or earlier ("Grand Vin" was introduced in 1977). They have been packed away with other glassware for the past 15-20+ years, including a set of matching 7 1/4" all-purpose wine glasses (also being listed).

**FUN FACT: Cristal D'Arques stemware IS genuine lead crystal (lead content of at least 24%), but it is NOT hand blown/made. In fact, when you hold Cristal D'Arques you are experiencing a technological marvel of glassmaking that revolutionized the industry: the fully automated production of lead crystal stemware, introduced to the world by Durand in France in 1968. Eliminating the need to handcraft each piece dramatically reduced the price point and made what had been a luxury item affordable to the general consumer.
