Hexagonal Solid Silver pill box with an unusual lid which is decorated with a highly detailed depiction of the Aztec Sun Stone (see below) which you need to magnify to see clearly. Closes securely and overall appears to be lightly used, with just some generalised light scratching and a little tarnish in places. Stamped 925.

Aztec Sun Stone: This large hand carved volcanic rock sculpture dates to the 1500s and was created by the Mexica, the rulers of the Aztec empire at that time. The symbols relate to their view of the cosmic cycles and the relationship between gods and man. It seems likely that this would have been a site of worship of, and ritual for, the ruling forces.
