For auction is a 5" tall pair of "smiling" CAT 🐱 Salt & Pepper shakers from the 1950's.  Japan made several types of these "Meow-ers", but I've not seen these?  Another on-line has a pair marked NORCREST and with the original foil label.   The heads were able to be filled and when tipped would make a noise.... I've seen cows that were made the same, but after all these years, not sure if any of then still work.  The mechanism was surrounded by cardboard and inserted / glued in the bottom.
