Plug and socket, these are the same specification as the plug and socket which you get on recent Hornby or Oxford Rail locomotives and are easily damaged when separating the loco and tender. The coloured wires make it easier to see which wire goes were and theres 15cm of wire coming from the plug which is plenty to reach the motor and pickups in your loco.
