An interior scene depicting a priest visiting a woman and her children. A painting of the crucifixion hangs on the wall, signifying the piety of this humble family. Meanwhile, the priest's umbrella which leans against the bench adds a note of charming mundanity to the scene. Presented glazed in a distressed gilt frame and a gold mount. Signed to the lower-right edge. On wove.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some foxing and discolouration. There are some scuffs, losses, and areas of restoration to the frame and some marks to the mount.
