How does Subaru DCCD works?

The Driver's Control Centre Differential (DCCD) allows the center differential locking of the WRX STI to be dialed in and adjust its handling. It adjusts both an electromagnetic multi-plate transfer clutch and mechanical locking of a Limited Slip Differential (LSD) to distribute torque to the front and rear wheels. Auto Mode identifies the ideal power distribution for changing conditions, whilst Auto [+] keeps more power up front for increased traction. Auto [-] transfers more power to the rear for tighter cornering, and the six-step Manual Mode locks in the driver's favorite handling characteristics.

In order to operate as designed, clutch plates inside the DCCD unit must be capable to transfer the torque, especially when the engine is modified to the higher power. Therefore RacingDiffs Ltd Developed and tested performance upgrade plates which are capable of transferring 1000+ HP. The kit is direct replacement for OEM plates, so NO modifications are required.

Our company produces the highest quality LSD Friction Plates and Dog Ear Steel Plates on the market. We use the highest quality thermally processed tool steel which differs our product from any others on the market. During the final steps of production, clutch plates are coated with special Molybdenum-Ceramic compound which optimizes the best ratio of friction coefficient and durability, drastically reduces material wear and warping under extreme conditions, providing our Clutch plates the best possible longevity.

We recommend professional installation and oil replacement. Use oil for limited slip differentials only.
