Heavy-duty, antique door hinges salvaged from an old home in
Northeastern PA. They were made by "Stanley Works" of New Britain, CT sometime
during the 1960's or 70's.
We pulled these off of 4 French doors that all had tempered glass
(see last photo). All of the tempered glass on the doors were stamped "1976".
They were 1 3/4" thick and weighed about 50lbs each so these hinges are made to
hold up heavy doors.
Each hinge is made of solid, heavy, thick forged steel and has a
a satin-nickel finish. Although these look like common hinges made today, they
are not! These are actually good quality and were made in the USA. These feel
twice as heavy as any same-size hinge you'd get from Home Depot or Lowes.
Considering that the hinges were installed used, they are
in great condition. If they were cleaned, they would look brand new.
Expect nicks and scratches here and there, however, there are no
breaks, cracks, gouges, or chips. The hinges are perfectly straight and they
open and close effortlessly.
