“Russian Crew Of Second Manned Spacecraft

Moscow: The crew of Russia’s Soyuz-7, which was launched today at 1.45pm (10.45 GMT), following the launch of Soyuz-6 yesterday.

Left to Right they are: Cosmonauts V Gorbatko, A Filipchenko, and V Volkov, seen talking to journalists. Soyuz 7 established radio contact with its sister ship Soyuz 6, and it is reported that there will be a link-up among the three Soyuz craft, after tomorrow’s launch of Soyuz-8. The Soyuz-8 crew will he made up of space veterans.

The launching of the two-space craft, is believed to be the first part of a project to build a space station.
