Why buy this cable?

The short answer is, it's physically more than double what a standard microphone cable is.

Looking at other microphone cables and given specifications of this cable you will find:

Double, counter rotating bare copper spiral shield

Two copper shields, one wound clockwise and the other anticlockwise. This gives 100 percent shield coverage. Many other balanced cables have one outer shield that covers an average of 80 percent, relying on the balanced circuitry to reduce noise. Other cables may use foil, less flexible and increasing capacitance. The shield is what stops noise getting into the internal signal conductors and it is better to get this part right at tis stage.

Twisted pair, each inner signal cable is 0.50 mm² 28 x 0.15 mm. This is one reason why this cable is low loss. Other cables have as little as 7 strands of copper at 0.10 mm

Inner signal cables are encased in a flexible PVC, this make the cable more flexible and roust, holding the inner signal core and outer shield precisely in place, it is also why this cable is low capacitance, increasing the distance between the outer shield and the inner signal conductors.

The high longitudinal conversion loss (LCL) necessary for microphone cables is achieved by incorporating a range of solutions such as cores with ultra-low production tolerances, moulded PVC inner jacket around the cores to maintain their ex factory high-precision stranding, and a stabilizing element that significantly improves pressure resistance. A double counter-rotating spiral shield provides 100% cover for the inner jacket and reliably screens the cable from electromagnetic interference.
