1. Does this diesel scan tool work on American trucks?
Answer: Yes, it works on most trucks with J1708 and J1939 protocols. Such as Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International, Ford(HDtruck), CCC, Autocar, Bluebird, Pierce, GMtruck, Sterling, GMC truck, etc.
2. Why it shows NOT supported when diagnosing the truck?
Answer: Please confirm the power and ignition key of the vehicle to ON or start the engine. Then check if the test path is correct or not. In most cases, for American trucks, please select HDOBD menu. For American pickups, please select both WWW-OBD and HDOBD Code Reader.
3. Why cannot the tool clear the error codes?
Answer:
1) Help to check if the vehicle problems have been solved;
2) The HD601 can only clear standard OBD codes;
3) Some fault codes in the history cannot be cleared.
4. Can this code reader perform forced regeneration?
Answer: No, it only supports basic diagnostic functions such as read/clear codes, read data stream.
5. When I update the HD601 tool, I cannot find the serial port query. How can I find it?
Answer: Please make sure that your computer system is a Windows 10 system. For Windows 10 systems, the update tool will automatically detect the serial port number.
ANCEL HD601 support Lifetime Free Update
1) Download the upgrade program from Ancel official website to a Windows 10 computer.
2) Connect the reader to the Windows 10 computer via a mini USB cable.
3) Select the ABOUT/Update Mode menu, and the reader will enter the update mode.
4) Launch the update program on the Windows10 computer and select the appropriate port.
5) Click the Start Upgrade button to perform the upgrade.
6) When the upgrade is completed, the prompt will appear on the screen. You can look up the new version number in the ABOUT/Tool Information menu of the code reader.
