Description: This iconic game features one of the most famous announcer calls (i.e., Russ Hodges shouting, “The Giants Win The Pennant!”) of all 20th Century sports as well as in the history of Major League Baseball.  This is believed to be the only still existing photographer’s press pass and it was meant to be displayed in the hat band for all on-field media members who were taking pictures of game action from the National League play-off Games 2 and 3 at the Polo Grounds in New York City.

This hat press pass is also in exceptional condition as it was obviously stored meticulously in an album since 1951.  There is a tiny bit of wear but the colors and the condition are basically the same as the day it was issued.  It is hard to believe that a piece of memorabilia such as this still exists but one very savvy photographer, who watched Bobby Thomson’s famous home run, kept it tucked away safely since October 3, 1951—just over seventy years ago.  The New York Giants defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in a three-game series to win the 1951 National League Pennant.
