A few years back when we owned a car accessory shop a family in Ireland died when their car went into the water and they could not get out.

The AA produced as many of these life hammers as they could as the demand was so great but could not keep up with the packaging production so these are provided in a plastic bag.

It not only breaks the glass of a car window equalising the pressure but also has a seat belt cutter at the bottom so that it is easier to get out of the car.
