Stage 1 J3 Chip Smartlock Smartshield Bypass Disable Manual ECU EB ED EF EL AU
Our Stage 1 J3 Chip is suitable for engine conversions or manual conversions on standard engines, with a standard factory tune only. If you’re after any changes such as rev limiter, shift improvements, or improved performance on 98 fuel, see our Stage 2 J3 Chip .
Suitable for all EEC vehicles including EA-AU (all series). Applications could include:
- Convert an Auto ECU into a Manual ECU
- Convert a standard ECU into a Tickford/XR6 or LPG
- Disable or Bypass Smartlock and Smartshield such as when doing an engine conversion, running a minimal loom in a speedway car or bypassing a P1260 DTC even when the Smartshield hand is showing on the dash. Allows the ECU to run completely standalone from all other modules. Please read our free Smartlock Guide for more information before purchase
- For any modifications to your tune, such as raised limiters, fuel and ignition advance, pops etc see the Stage 2 J3 Chip . If you order the Stage 1 and ask for changes they will not be included.
On supply of details of your car, we load a stock tune to your specifications onto a chip ready to for you to plug in – no long delays waiting for a tuner. Installation is simple, and takes less than 15 minutes – see Installing a J3 Chip for instructions. If you’d prefer us to install and test your chip we can for a charge.
Use the Order Notes field in the Checkout to supply us with the details of why you are ordering the chip. In your note, please include the make, model, engine and transmission type. You must provide all requested information, or we cannot process your order!
If you have any questions about which chip you need or what you could modify to suit your setup, please read the FAQ or Contact us before ordering.
We strongly recommend fitting a BMC High Flow Panel Air Filter to suit EA-ED Falcon 6 Cylinder , or EF-AU Falcon 6 Cylinder and EB-AU V8 , and a Clip In J3 Chip Cover to secure the chip in place.
